A volcanic hillside on the Canarian Island of Gomera was tranformed into a golf course opening for play in 2004. It was an enormous undertaking but the finished outcome is a wonderful example of what can be achieved with major engineering work given adverse and steeply sloping site conditions.

The unique design has the 1st tee at the top of the course allowing a gentle descent to the clubhouse one mile away with the ocean in sight from all points. The inland views into the barrancos and up to the mountains are equally impressive.

Hotel Tecina, owned and operated by the Fred Olsen Group, makes for a luxurious oasis for golfers who wish to stay at the course.
