Park House

One of the most unusual projects in recent years has been at Park House Hotel, just twenty minutes from the office. The O’Brien family, who own the hotel, wanted to update their extremely basic par 3 course to create a proper miniature golf course that could be maintained to the highest standards.
Plans were drawn up for a six hole par three course that could be played from three sets of tees to create an eighteen hole layout. It was built in 2005, opened in 2006.
The greens are roughly half scale but with cunning undulations to really test the skill of the players for their tee shots, chipping and putting. A meandering ditch and six bunkers add to the challenge. Par is a wonderful achievement yet few of the holes measure more than 80 yards.
Squeezed into less than six acres, it is a good example of what can be done to create a fun golfing experience.
