Milltown Golf Club is one of the oldest and most respected clubs in Dublin. It is set on a very small acreage close to the heart of the city. In recent years though, it became all too clear to the membership that the course required considerable investment for it to hold its own and provide future enjoyment for the golfers.

The plan is to totally rebuild every green, tee and bunker, enhancing the strategy of the holes wherever possible to make the course more interesting and challenging.

Phase One of the project was undertaken in the autumn of 2005 with seven holes being reworked. Phase Two started in 2008 with the remaining holes being tackled.

This type of project is highly demanding because timetables are always tight. The over-riding need is to maintain play for the membership to the greatest extent and to ensure that opening dates are met.
