Considerable experience has been built up in other European
countries beyond Portugal and Spain, providing a valuable knowledge of
the varied planning issues and technical requirements for constructing
golf courses in different lands. France, Holland, Germany and Norway have
seen the construction of courses over recent years and a green reconstruction
project carried out in Poland. There are prospective projects in Italy
and Finland.

The Netherlands
Much work has been carried out in the Netherlands over the
years. There are many wonderful old courses in the country including some
marvellous seaside links and also true heathland courses. A number of
these have been advised over the years. In terms of new courses, nine
hole extensions have been designed and constructed at de Gelpenberg and
Lauswolt, a nine hole course at Engelenburg and eighteen hole courses
created at Efteling, the wonderful Dutch theme park at Tilburg, and another
at Haverleij.

Chateau des Vigiers,
Bergerac, France
Working vineyards, plum and almond orchards and beautiful oaks provide
exceptional variety and beauty to this course which radiates from its
quintessentially French chateau, not far from Bergerac in the south west
of France. The hotel, with all of its elegant facilities, provides a wonderful
escape.
A group of Scandinavians developed the course and plans
have been drawn up to add another nine holes at some stage in the future.

The Arctic Circle is only just over 200 miles north of the
course at Byneset. It enjoys a stunning setting with views of the hills
in all directions and the wonderful fjord from many parts. The course
has a nine hole par 3 and par 4 course as well as a full length eighteen,
the final nine holes of which will open in 2007. The enthusiasm for golf
of the local population is a joy to behold with the practice ground full
from dawn until dusk during the short golfing season.
